The Phaeoexplorer brown algal genome database

The Phaeoexplorer brown algal genome database is housed at Roscoff Biological Station in Brittany, France. The database not only provides access the genome data generated by the Phaeoexplorer brown algal genome sequencing project (see below) but also integrates publicly-available brown algal genome assemblies produced by other projects.

The Phaeoexplorer project

The Phaeoexplorer project was a medium-scale genome sequencing project that generated annotated genome assemblies and transcriptome data for a broad range of brown algal species in order to explore the biology and evolutionary history of this poorly characterized but important group of marine eukaryotes.

Funding

The Phaeoexplorer project was funded by the ANR project France Genomique with additional support from the ERC starting grant SexSea , the ANR Future Investment project Idealg , the Genialg project and data contribution from the University of Washington (USA), the Nord University (Norway) and the University of Melbourne (Australia)
